Eradication of <i>H. pylori</i> in a large outpatient general practice setting seemed to protect against the subsequent onset of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and there was evidence that eradication of <i>H. pylori </i>neither improved nor worsened pre-existing GERD symptoms.
